Program notes by Rinus van Alebeek: Anders Östberg is with Radio On since April 2014. Every seven months he sends a new show. Each show is built around a theme. The songs you hear are taken from his vast collection of records. Most of the time the shows are related to cultural or fashion movements in the 1960s and 1970s, movements that appeared for a brief moment and disappeared again, without hardly leaving a trace. Anders shows can be regarded as collections of oddities, but if you look and listen deeper you will see the image of what once was, and now is no more.

Program notes by Rinus van Alebeek: Many things can come to mind while listening to a seemingly endless repeat of the same song, albeit in slightly altered versions. A giant speaker in space could be on a drift, without any chance that the sounds will ever be heard; radical demonstrators could block the streets, a sound system on their truck that plays this song for weeks, while the demonstrators themselves have left the place as from the first minute. One can disrupt speeches, shopping malls, swimming pools, desert rides, asylums, schools and universities.
The actions might be all too much honor for Lennon/McCartney who, after hearing their song for the fourth time, seem two children of a very mediocre England, with its teatime, gardening and rose decorated china.
But it can underline the power of repetition and of enforced boredom.
I am very much tempted to schedule this one hour compiled by Anders Östberg for an entire week.

Program notes by Rinus van Alebeek: This is another exquisite selection from Anders’s collection that he delivers every seven months. All the songs you hear are hard to find, as it is hard to believe you ever heard them. It is a beautiful collection that will make your working space, living room or kitchen shine in a special light. Music for all generations, it fuels the imagination of what the life of your grandparents, your parents or even your young self was or could have been like. No-one to dance with? Start sobbing and feel the happiness deep inside of you.
